  • "Dr. Kinga Szálkai is an Associate Professor at METU since September 2021. She is also a Visiting Lecturer at Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, and an Associate Research Fellow at the OSCE Academy, Bishkek. Prior to that, she was an Adjunct at the Department of International Relations and European Studies at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest.
  • She earned her PhD degree in International Relations and Security Studies from Corvinus University of Budapest in 2017. Her main research focuses on water as a security challenge in Central Asia. Her research areas also include large dams as tools of identity construction in the Soviet Union and in the post-Soviet region, and theories and practice of transboundary water issues.
